Our lead program has completed multiple Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials.  We launched our Phase 2b clinical trial in Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) in 2023 and our Phase 2 clinical trial in cardiovascular disease in Q2 2024. General Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Corporate Planning and Special Projects position reports to the Chief Business Officer and General Counsel.  This position leads a variety of corporate operational excellence initiatives and special projects, driving Tourmaline to perform at a high level across the organization, always consistent with our core values. Additionally, the position manages corporate communication channels, including working cross-functionally to develop clear and meaningful messaging, maintaining the corporate intranet and external website (in partnership with external vendors), and working with the IR/PR functions to coordinate internal/external communications to enhance the company’s profile and mission awareness.

Responsibilities

Lead Operational Excellence Initiatives

  • Take the lead, working with functional area heads, in developing and maintaining a corporate-level risk registry
  • Project manage corporate and department goal setting, and perform ongoing reporting on progress on, and risks to, corporate and departmental goals
  • Create and organize substantive content for effective ELT and company-wide meetings
  • Plan and maintain corporate calendar
  • Define and project manage various corporate processes and initiatives that necessitate efficient cross-functional participation and coordination.
  • Lead operational excellence workshops and training, both company-wide and for subgroups within Tourmaline
  • Be a thought leader on how to most effectively manage analysis and decision-making consistent with Tourmaline’s Core Values and Corporate Behaviors (as seen on our website)

Establish and Maintain Internal Communications Channels

  • Build relationships and partner with senior leadership and functional area heads to identify communications needs, make recommendations, and align on communications approach
  • Identify needs across the organization for corporate-wide messaging and develop and deliver clear and meaningful internal communications, including working across departments and with IT to develop and maintain Tourmaline’s corporate intranet strategy and content
  • Work with outward-facing IR/PR functions to manage and develop content for company’s external digital / social channels, helping to raise Tourmaline’s external profile and awareness of our mission, clinical trial portfolio, etc. 
  • Maintain Tourmaline’s external website in partnership with external vendors, including expansion of content to reflect Tourmaline’s elevated external profile, presence and growing portfolio of initiatives
  • Coordinate internal review processes of external-facing corporate content

Lead Special Projects

  • Take the lead on, or support, critical special projects that require corporate and/or cross-functional coordination

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience and Attributes

  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry experience, with at least 3 of those years leading corporate and operational excellence initiatives in a rapidly growing biotech company.  Relevant prior roles could include corporate planning/strategic projects roles, corporate communications, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set and track goals, and effectively communicate progress and risks.
  • Capacity to understand organizational objectives and devise strategies to achieve them, while aligning with corporate values and behaviors.
  • Experience in crafting compelling internal and, in conjunction with the IR/PR functions, external communications strategies to engage stakeholders and enhance the company’s reputation and visibility.
  • Experience working with diverse teams and functional areas to drive initiatives forward, fostering cooperation and alignment across the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex ideas clearly, develop engaging content for meetings and communications, and build relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, intranet and website management platforms, and digital/social media channels for effective communication and content development.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, environments, and stakeholder needs, while maintaining focus on long-term goals and objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reporting, content creation, and project management.
  • Periodic travel to Tourmaline offices in New York and physical attendance at other project and team meetings will be required.

Base Salary Range: $142,000 – $170,000 based on candidate’s professional experience level.
