Our lead program has completed multiple Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials.  We launched our Phase 2b clinical trial in Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) in 2023 and our Phase 2 clinical trial in cardiovascular disease in Q2 2024. General Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager, IT Applications reports to and supports the Senior Director, Head of IT on planning for, implementing, maintaining, operating, and monitoring Tourmaline’s technology applications and solutions across the company. This role also provides operational support for IT for, e.g., cybersecurity and data privacy, supports development of IT policies and procedures, manages IT vendors, and supports business continuity and contingency planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of IT on the strategy, plan, selection, design, development and deployment of the appropriate technology infrastructure, services, and systems to support clinical development activities.
    • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including e.g., clinical, medical research, medical affairs, CMC, quality and regulatory to understand technology needs and translate to forward-looking IT strategies and technology initiatives that are right-sized and scalable to rapid growth.
    •  In particular, serve as the lead for the Veeva platform implementation, access management, security, and support services companywide.
  • Administer, manage, and support technology systems and processes to ensure high performance, reliability, and control.
  • Provide operational support for IT applications, cybersecurity, data privacy, and SaaS/Cloud technologies.
  • Author, develop, maintain, and train on IT policies and operational procedures.
  • Support new hire onboarding processes for IT.
  • Support business continuity and contingency planning for technology and information systems.
  • Monitor systems and respond quickly to problems, outages, or other usability concerns.
  • Source and manage IT vendors external resources to meet service delivery demands.
  • Provide and assist with daily operations, technical support, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement relevant service metrics and establish service level agreements with key vendors.

Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

Experience and Attributes:

  • A minimum of 5 years in IT roles of increasing responsibility, ideally with system administration, infrastructure, and/or service management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully driving and project managing IT initiatives forward on time and in budget.
  • Experience at a rapidly growing, pre-commercial life sciences company, including working knowledge of and point of view on relevant IT applications in biotech, is strongly preferred.
  • System administration experience with Amazon Web Services and Veeva Vault is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create and deliver technical presentations that explain complex subjects to non-technical end users.
  • Track record of exceptional customer service in IT and desire to support multiple areas of the business.
  • Motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience leading cybersecurity and/or data privacy initiatives is a plus.
  • Experience working with Clinical Research Organizations, Managed Service Providers, and Regulatory partners is a plus.

Base Salary Range: $122,600 – $146,600 based on candidate professional experience level.
